Use this guide to create an automatic override on a future date for upcoming holiday periods.

In this guide, we will configure your time switch to be closed from December 23rd through December 27th, playing a special greeting to the caller, then disconnecting the call. You can adjust the dates, or whether the call should reach voicemail after hearing the message, etc. as desired.

Begin by selecting Hosted PBX, then Time Switches.

Click Edit for your desired time switch, then, to the right of "Override Conditions" click the red + to add a future date override condition.

In the resulting line, set a name for your override (for this example we'll use, 'Xmas Holiday'). Specify the dates you'll be closed, noting that these dates are inclusive.

In this example, your regular time conditions will not run on the 23rd through to 27th, so regular time conditions will operate as business resumes on the 28th

Select a destination like a Sound Event or Voicemail.

In this example, choose Sound Events. Choose an existing sound event or click +New Sound Event. Provide a name for this sound event and, uploaded or choose the sound you wish to play, select it in the Sound field. If you need to record a new message, choose +New Sound (Record) and follow the prompts to record you new greeting. Set the Destination to Hangup, and click Save. (If you want the caller to be sent to Voicemail after hearing your message, choose Voicemail as the destination instead)

Once this is complete, your new override condition should look similar to the following:

Leave the time set to 12:00AM to ensure the time condition starts on the first minute of the 23rd.

Save the changes to your time switch. Any callers ringing in during the time window specified will be played the message, and your time switch will revert to normal operations the day after the last specified in your override - in this case on the 28th.
