Welcome to Your New 3CX Phone System — Getting Started Guide

Welcome to Your New 3CX Phone System

Welcome aboard! Your 3CX phone system is now live and ready to go. This guide will walk you through everything you need to get set up — from logging in for the first time, to installing apps on your PC and mobile, and using SMS.

1. Getting Started — Your 3CX Login

Your 3CX system is accessed at: https://tronic.3cx.com.au

Your username is your email address. You will need to set your own password on first login.

Once logged in, you can install and provision the 3CX desktop app, mobile app, or use the web client directly. Each user can have all three — a mobile app, a PC app, and a desk phone — all running on the same extension number at the same time.

Forgotten Your Password?

If you need to reset your password at any time, follow this guide:
How to Reset Your 3CX Password

This will send a password reset link to your email address.

2. Using 3CX — Choose How You Connect

There are several ways to use your 3CX phone system. We recommend installing the PC app as your primary option, with the mobile app for when you're away from your desk.

The desktop app runs on your PC and starts automatically when you turn your computer on — no need to open a browser each day.

Option B: 3CX Web Client

You can use the 3CX web client directly in your browser at https://tronic.3cx.com.au. This works without installing anything, but we recommend the desktop app instead for day-to-day use as it doesn't rely on having a browser tab open.

Important: If you use the web client and your status isn't showing as available, you may need to update your browser permissions. Follow this guide:
Fixing Web Client Availability / Registration Issues

Option C: 3CX Mobile App

Install 3CX on your iPhone or Android to make and receive calls on the go using your office number.

Important: When scanning the QR code to provision your mobile app, use the camera inside the 3CX app — not your phone's default camera app.

3. 3CX Chrome & Edge Browser Extension

The 3CX browser extension lets you click on any phone number in Chrome or Edge and dial it directly through 3CX — no copy-pasting required.

4. SMS Functionality

Your Tronic 3CX SIP trunk includes the ability to send SMS messages directly from 3CX.

SMS Cost

  • 10 cents per message block (each block is 160 characters or part thereof)
  • We can look at better pricing for volume

Important Information

  • To send and receive SMS, a mobile number (04XX XXX XXX) needs to be assigned to your account. Contact us to arrange this.
  • Without a mobile number, you can still send outbound SMS using an alphanumeric Sender ID (e.g. "[YOUR_SENDER_ID]"). The Sender ID is the name that appears as the sender — max 11 characters, letters and numbers only. However, recipients cannot reply to messages sent from a Sender ID.
  • The Sender ID (the name that appears as the sender) is alphanumeric, max 11 characters. For example, a Sender ID of "[YOUR_SENDER_ID]" means when you receive the SMS the sender will show as "[YOUR_SENDER_ID]" and you cannot reply to this message.
  • To allow receive SMS then we need to add a mobile number to your account. Contact us to arrange this.
